Billy Ray Cowan

Mr. Billy Ray Cowan, age 57, went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2018 at approximately 4:47 p.m. Mr. Cowan was born in South Dakota on June 16, 1960 to Billy Ray English and Gladys Berle (Cowan) Cunningham. Along with his parents an adopted mother of more than 30 years, Janice E. Kenner, a stepson, Jayson Sims, favorite uncles, Winnie Cowan, Charles Cowan, and Walter Cowan; and brothers, Larry L. Banks, Preston W. Cunningham, William Young, and Billy Ray English Jr. preceded Billy in death.

Billy was married to Lori (Sims) Cowan and she survives. He also leaves behind to cherish his precious memory, a daughter, Jessica M. Cowan Reynolds of Lima; three grandchildren, Kiarra Cowan, Ahonesty Reynolds, and Anthony Reynolds; brother, Norman Cunningham of Lima, his stepmother, Cardella Cunningham of Florence, Alabama; sisters, Barbara Geirger of Cridersville, Florence Denise Dukes, Laura (Willie) Thomas, Della (Cedric) Bradford, Claudia English, and Mary (Larry) Fisher, all of Lima, Denise English of Indianapolis, Indiana, Antonio Cunningham of Lima; and Joanne Howard, special cousin/sister.

Billy also leaves to mourn his passing, an adopted father, Abraham Kenner of 34 years; siblings, Donald Kenner, Anthony Kenner, Vanessa (George) Hunter, Sheila Whetsel, and Blake Kenner; 13 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews, all of Bellefontaine; and a very special friend, Wendy Craig.

Mr. Cowan worked at Belletech for 20 years and most recently for Midwest Express. He was a member of Greater Christ Temple Church for 34 years. Billy is a special part of the Kenner family. He loved sports, to the point of keeping stats for The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds, and San Francisco 49ers games. He loved cars and identifying the year, model, and make. Billy was extra ordinary, and his smile and laugh will be missed by all.

Visitation will take place Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Christ Our King Church, 1325 County Road 9, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.
